Funny Stories
June 29, 2012, “I am going to pay for that on judgment day,” my friend said as we walked into our small office.
“I wish that’s all I had to worry about on my day of judgment!” I told him. My mind was digging deep into the memories of a life lived hard. Memories I refused to share with friends and colleagues here.

Judgment day: a rock bench and sundial was all that sat between the pearly gate and me. The sundial was a curious piece, the sun was not visible from that realm but it still created a prominent shadow. The shadow only moved if I willed it to and it was just as sporadic as my will.
“Mr. Nelson,” a voice called as the gate opened.
“You didn’t make it. On June 29, 2012 you lied to your boss,” the voice said.
“Oh come on!”

I really like the idea of a heavenly sundial that works even in the absence of the sun. It’s a novel idea that I think you expressed well 🙂
Thanks, a shadow in absence of the sun is the fist thing that came to mind when I saw the pic. Not sure why. Thanks for commenting.
Whoops. LOL
